Compliance Deadline May 7, 2018
On May 7, 2018, the FDA issued the final ruling on Restaurant Menu Nutrition disclosure requiring calorie and nutrition information on restaurant menus and menu boards. During this first year of compliance, the FDA will work with establishments to achieve the highest level of compliance.
The deadline to comply with this ruling was May 7, 2018.
Restaurant chains, franchises and other establishments selling restaurant type foods with 20 or more locations must now clearly provide nutrition and calorie information for menu items on their menus and menu boards. They must also clearly state that additional restaurant menu nutrition information is available upon request. This includes pizza, theater popcorn and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
